She began working for Regis Corporation in 2001 as a Salon Manager.
Later in July 2012, she began working as an Account Service Person at HairUWear Inc. Candis started working as a Human Resource Generalist for Diagnostic Centers of America in May 2019. Mia Thornton and her husband Gordon Thornton have been married for nearly ten years. Gordon is a North Carolina businessman. He owns several McDonald's franchises and is the owner and chief operating officer of Giselle Executive Management DBA.
They have two children from their relationship and one from Gordon's previous marriage. The couple welcomed their first child, Jeremiah Thornton, in 2015, followed by Juliana Thornton in July 2017 and Joshua Thornton in 2018.
The pair met for the first time in a strip joint in 2003. Gordon and Mia previously knew each other as friends and served on the board of directors of a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for Haiti. They married on May 5, 2012, after five years of dating.
