After the raging internet drama involving her name along with other A-list celebrities, Selena Gomez can't help but constantly be in the limelight, of course for good things. Following her "eyebrow drama" with Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner, fans are siding on Selena's side. While there's a lot to talk about on the matter, this time Gomez's appreciation for her kidney donor and best friend Francia Raisa is the hot cake.
In the latest episode of Apple TV+'s documentary series Dear ..., the phenomenal pop diva revealed how she will always and forever be in debt to her best friend Francia for saving her life. Speaking about her journey with Lupus, Selena struggled her way through 2017 with the life-threatening consequences of her auto-immune condition.
Though internet tabloids have been going around saying Selena has some cold blood against her best friend Francia, the Calm Down singer cleared the air on the issue. Opening up about the whole situation from her point of view, Gomez remarked as she recalled Raisa's reaction to her condition and the news of her kidneys failing,
My best friend. Her name is Francia. She said, 'No, I am absolutely getting tested. And within three days, she went to get tested, and she was a match. And it was one of those moments where I felt watched over. I know I was so so so lucky.
Selena also adds that this selfless act of Raisa has her in debt for the rest of her life. Emotional and grateful, the Love You Like a Love Song singer adds,
I will never ever, ever be more in debt to a person than Francia. The idea of someone not even second-guessing to be a donor was unbelievably overwhelming.
The viral picture of Selena and her bestie circulated all over the internet with tags of #Bestfriendgoals during the time. Francia also tweeted about her journey as a doner with supportive words in favor of kidney disease awareness. She wrote,
If you've been following me for a while, you know that I've kept my kidney donation process pretty private. However, I think I've gotten to a point in my life where I feel comfortable and confident in speaking about my experience and using my platform to raise awareness for the various kidney diseases that affect our population.
From this revelation, it has been quite clear that Selena wasn't ignoring and ungrateful for her best friend's kind act, but it was all for the sake of their privacy on the matter.
